The Secret to Trading Success - SIMPLE RULES

The most important part of trading success is "to have solid rules and following them religiously".

No matter how robust and efficient the method, if you don't follow the rules you will Destroy your account .WHY?

Because RULES (Simple Rules)
Are a mechanism to protect ourselves from our Flintstones brain. The primitive flight and fight response mechanism can be countered only by accepting to trade only by the RULES.

In the heat of the moment when your vision is blurry the RULES will work as Light Houses, beacons and torches to get you out of the darkest  dungeon and light up the path that may eventually lead you into the broad daylight of consistent success.

Discipline is the KEY.

A system is a effective only if you use it!

A simple Checklist  will ensure you remain Discipline 100% of the time.
(Its part of the T20 Principle we share with you in the Members section)

And Remember:
Trading or Any other Success in life is at least 80% a Psychological thing. Its Mental. 20% Mechanics.

Do I need to worry about Leverage or Margin?

Well, before we talk about leverage or margin and whether to use margin or not.

Let me address a rather more v.important aspect to this concept of trading, all of course, in my humble opinion.

None of the traders are ready for trading. That is why there are protections. I would consider myself lucky that I can find brokers who'd allow me trade a demo account with nearly the same prices and executions (executions really does not matter on the higher time frame though a pip above or below my po or SL is no issue there) Again, I'd like to stress on the fact that LEARNING TO TRADE CORRECTLY is a necessary requirement  before you decide to  trade a live account. Going for live account without first completing for instance 5 batches of T20 principle  would be, in my humble opinion, a very stupid and reckless thing to do. You'd rather give me your money.  :p

Trading is a skill that requires a lot of practice. Its a VERY lucrative skill but it requires practice. You must first make sure you have the following things.
1. A Trading Strategy which gives you an edge [aims methods have this covered]
2. Acquire an in depth understanding of the above.
3. Gain practical experience in the above.
4. Demo trade the strategy and maintain a discipline score for each trade and batch of 20 trades. Do at least 5 batches ( 5T20's)and maintain an average of 70% discipline score with none of the T20 batches less than 50% score (if a batch has less than 50% score, you might want to scratch that and repeat it).

This is a rough guide to How to become a Disciplined Trader.

I'd like to suggest that in order to become a profitable trader you have to follow at least 2 steps.
1. Learn to Trade using a demo account.
2. Learn to trade using a live account.

Not so difficult to understand is it? Just two steps. Now, by demo I don't mean that you open a trade here and there and close it haphazardly. The idea is to recreate an experience and environment that is similar to the actual but without the RISK of losing money.  This would give you that "stress free state of mind" the one that is "Risk Free".

If you have not yet been able to keep at least a demo account and remained "disciplined" you cannot move forward. We see many players doing net Practice and they look fantastic but they fail miserably when it comes to "matches". [cricket analogy]

Because during practice we lacked an important ingredient. FEAR/RISK. However to trade demo without Risk or FEAR factor is EXACTLY the purpose of Demo Trading. You want to perfect your skill so that it becomes "second nature". So, to become the best at what you do, you don't have to play as many matches as possible rather you practice as many hours as possible before you go for a match. So that you don't have to "think" what to do next during the live event, rather you KNOW exactly what to do without "thinking". Its your instinct.

[Are you telling me demo is waste of your time? then you don't believe in or does not understand the concept of Practice. And Yes, you have to write one beautiful Trading Plan, before you can trade, Else every trade will be classed as Zero Discipline Score]

I'm trying to help the members who connect with me through Skype, and the hunt section of the forum, to become profitable by first becoming disciplined traders. In a way i'm selling the idea but the intent is purely to help.

cheers and hope this helps a little...

ps: i don't care what leverage is there, its irrelevant until you have learned to trade correctly, you must first learn to trade. Just as I don't care how expensive is Formula 1 car, first I need to acquire the skill to be considered for driving one. And I don't have that skill so Formula 1 racing car is "of no value to me". Fun to watch though, those who can.

5 main obstacles keeping you away from success

1.    Fear

Overcoming the fear of losing money.  The fear of losing money is real. Everyone has it. The difference becomes how a rich and poor person handles the fear. Wealthy individuals use failure as a teaching moment and aren’t afraid to fail.

2.    Cynicism

This deals mostly with those around you. Follow your own path, because at the end of the day, wealthy individuals are a small percentage who go against the grain and don’t follow the crowd

3.    Laziness

One must be willing to put in the time and effort to build up their financial knowledge. This means being selfish and taking time out to build one’s personal wealth.

4.    Bad Habits

Reducing expenses is easier said than done, but one must be willing to break those bad spending/investing habits in order to be successful

5.    Arrogance

Always be willing to reach out to those who are successful and those you want to emulate. To become wealthy, it’s often a collaborative effort, bouncing ideas from prospective mentors.

3 Points to Consider before Choosing a Forex Trading System

When it comes to getting yourself into Forex trading, one thing you may be wondering about is
the Forex trading systems that are out there.

There are plenty of options to select from and even more opinions on if you should use them, how you should use them and which ones to use.

Before you can make a decision about this, you should consider what the trading system can actually offer to you and why it may or may not be the best option for your particular needs. Some systems are no doubt better than others.

There are many systems out there and some of them are definitely going to be a better option than others are. The key here is not to buy a system or use a free one, based solely on that factor but to know what to look for.

3 Things you need to consider before Buying a Forex Trading System
Before you give the thumbs up to a system please check if it gives you the following 3 things.

Match The System with Your Style of Play

1. The first thing you need to consider is that the trading system needs to work with your own style of play. In other words, no matter if you are a long term swing trader or if you are a short term day trader, the system needs to work for your particular goals and your particular needs as such. But the question is do you really know what is your "style of play"?

2. Next, consider how the Forex trading system addresses clear entry and exit signals. No matter which system you invest in, it is critical that you know that the system has these types of signals and that they work perfectly.

If this is in place, this means there is no chance for your emotions to come into your trading. You want there to be 100 percent mechanical rules in place to protect you so that you do not make bad decisions at the wrong moment. Well not 100% because that is not realistic when it comes to trading with you need to have a set of parameters "objectively" define for each situation in the market. e.g. What would you do if the market moves in an upward of downward trend but the trend is either too fast or too slow? What would happen if the market suddenly spiked 100 pips in your favour? etc

3. There should be some set of defined rules on stop loss size and placement. Money Management is KEY. Many trading systems you will find out there do promise to provide you with high returns. They may or may not be able to deliver on this promise. If they are going to deliver they need to have good money management rules in place.

You want there to be a stop loss placement so that you can avoid seeing your trading capital erased too fast based on just a few trades.

No matter what you chose, you have to have a Trading System because without it you'll be lost. Trading requires you to treat it like a proper business because it is a proper business and business planning is key to any successful business.

You select the right one to use in your trading. A trader without a plan is heading towards disaster. Trading is a pattern recognition numbers game. You need an edge and that edge is provided by AIMS Stress Free Trading.

Consistency is Everything

I just want to say, Consistency is everything.

Trading is ALL about Consistency. If you find a system, you do reasonable backtesting and some forward testing and you find that it gives you a statistical advantage (an edge) then the next step to take is simple. Just trade it.

One must stay consistent. IF you keep adding or deleting indicators to your chart day in a day out you probably are not consistent. And how can you be consistent if you keep changing the environment for your mind and your eyes. Your eyes must see the same picture over and over and must not expect changed picture everyday. Meaning, if you keep using different templates on a weekly or daily basis, consistency will be hard to achieve.

Beware The Template Syndrome: So I urge everyone to select a template and then forget about other templates. If you're like many of us, you probably have over a dozen templates in your mt4. I've seen some people when they click on their templates button two or 3 columns appear, yes hundreds of templates. But that leads to nothing. Our first indicator is price, you can add 2-3 more derived indicators anything more than that would just complicate things. Trading is ALL about consistency. and "Consistency = Patience + Discipline. "

If you want success in trading you must treat it as a business. You must be thorough. You must keep a journal and record everything. Accurate recording leads to better faster learning and helps with consistency. In a phrase successful trading is nothing but acquiring a personality trait. Being Consistent.

Let this be your new years resolution. To remain consistent so that you may find success and remain consistently profitable.

What is Success?

Success can be defined in many ways but in trading Success is defined simply as follows:
Trading Success is the process of consistently following a trading plan that gives you statistical edge in the market.

So success is not simply hitting winning trades or avoiding losing trades. Trading success is a process. Its not a one time event. Trading success is considered a success only if there is consistency in it.

One thing is for sure, its not about how many trades you win against the number of trades you lose. Its about consistently applying a trading plan that will allow you to win consistently. And winning consistently means that the total outcome at the end of a certain number of trades is a positive number.

You may have a strategy with 60% losers? So how do you make money if you lose 60% of the time? Well that's pretty simple. When you win you win big when you lose you lose only a small amount. More on this inside our Members Only Forum.

When is it too late or too early to buy a pullback?

In order to answer this question first ….  Let’s quickly do some repetition. Let’s quickly do some repetition.  Let’s throw in some trading ...
