How to Trade the German 30 - Live Trade with Comments [DAX30]

Hello

Today is NFP Day. I started the day with watching all my forex pairs and then spent about 10 minutes analysing the DAX30.

I shared my premarket analysis over at the AIMS Live Trading Chatroom as follows

I shared my analysis in the chatroom (screenshot)

The day started with a zig zag up and down price action all over the place.

When that happens I often lose money.

I was eagerly waiting for a breakout and then something happened... WATCH VIDEO NOW

How to Trade the Wave 3 for HUGE PROFITS

The most important thing I learned a few years ago was that the market was a wave.

Well, not the market, but the charts that we look at. It always moves in waves. Someone actually named them after themselves but we don't really need that lovely name (Elliott Wave). Because we don't need to complicate things.

When I talk about waves, I don't mean the popular Elliott Wave. I mean the AIMS WAVE.

What does that mean?

So, we have one of the most beautiful indicator we call AIMS The Wave. But you should know that it has many other names such as The AO, The Awesome Oscillator, The eWave, AIMS Wave etc.

This simple concept revolutionized the complicated concept of The Elliott Wave into a Simple 10 Seconds to Elliott Wave concept.

  • It helps the trader see the market in a smooth wave going above and below a certain Zero Line.
  • It helps you ignore the going up and going down of the price concept.
For us technical traders, we don't have an up and down as such specially in forex. All we see is eWave turning Red or Green.

Assuming you already know a bit about the wave. I know most of you will want to know the answer to this fantastic question.

The Big Question is: How to trade the third wave?

So when you begging to understand the Wave Concept you soon realise that the Gem of this Treasure is the Wave 3. This is the biggest most powerful wave. And the next logical step for most trades is to ask this next consequential question.

And so... You will ask this question and soon discover that you have to ask another question.
How to spot Wave 1 and 2.

The reason you will ask this question naturally is because these are the two waves that come before The big hero that is the Wave 3. Because you need to see Wave 1/2 in order to position yourself into the Wave 3.

So the question then is, How to spot wave 1-2...

How to Spot wave 1-2?

The answer is disappointing to some but in reality, it's very interesting. So the answer is that

"the way to find wave 1-2 easily is...
That There is no easy way. But hold on, keep reading.... "

Lets first ask, Why is this a question? Why do we ask this question?

The question is raised because we see these beautiful often elusive wave 3's. And we want to GET IN into those waves to make the most amount of profit. We all want to catch that BIG TRADE.

Because we know that the market moves, roughly in 5 waves. Well, not really but it's a great lie that really works. trust me.

What we all agree on is that the third wave is always the biggest strongest waves. And it is always wave 1 and wave 2 that leads to wave 3.

And that is why you want to know where is wave 1-2.

So is there a way to do that?
Answer: A Yes and a No.

Wave 1  2 often occurs during the Sideways market or at the peak of terminating waves. Both spots are very risky and difficult to spot and catch.

We have an easier BETTER more profitable and Powerful way to trade The Illusive WAVE 3.

How to NOT Trade Wave 3 yet trade it at the same time.

Yes, We don't trade wave 3, yet we do trade it. Paradoxical? You bet it is.

But the answer is very simple and exciting.

So, we trade Wave 5 and within that, we catch wave 3.  That is because Wave 5 is an impulse wave. And within each impulse wave, there is ALWAYs a wave 3 of a certain degree.

Step 1: The way to do that is simply let the Big Wave 3 happen.
Step 2: Let it turn into wave 4 and then
Step 3: Now that you know wave 4, position yourself and trade into wave 5.

We use a trading pattern that we lovingly call AIMS The Setup One.
Using Setup 1 you will always get into wave 3 of Wave 5. So you'll be trading Wave 3 but within wave 5.

This is a very high profitability strategy. It will give you a win rate of 70%

When you spot 3 and 4  you're able to make sense where "was" wave 1 and 2. It's not confirmed until you see a 3 and 4. So going into a new 3 is difficult unless you do a bit more work. And we don't like more work. We like things simple.

Simply Trade Setup 1. The NEW Setup 1. We have redefined Setup 1 in 2017. This setup 1 gives us over 70% success rate.

Here are some examples  of the Perfect Setup 1

The DAX Report 16 April 2019 [Know Yourself]

The Morning Session:

It was the usual boring start that is the norm these days on the DAX m5 or M1 chart. Markets just aren't as bombastic as they used to be. But that can change anytime so no worries there.

The Buyers Kicked-In

All of a sudden there were strong buyers in the market. Price shot up. That was my cue. I wait for these volatility spikes. Something that moves the market and shows momentum.

Once that is done all I need to do is wait for AIMS Setup for Entries.

I posted this picture in the chatroom. I'm never sure about a trade. Because if you think about "making sure" you take the right setups to enhance your chances of making money consistently, you do feel uncertain. I think this feeling of uncertainty is the human default position.

The B Trap Setup after a strong move up is a good bet

Trae Management Discipline is KEY:

Now having taken this setup , it was important to stick to the rules. You had to say, ok if it goes up its fine, I'll let it run as much as possible but if it comes down I won't touch it and let it hit stop loss. If you don't do this, you will kill many of your good winning trades.

Know Yourself

Well, it was not easy for me either. You have to know how to manage the things that make you make mistakes. With experience and keeping a record you begin to understand your own behavioural patterns. I am very impulsive. But I KNOW about it.

So, I engaged myself with the Chatroom where Tomi was sharing his pictures of France from the year 2000. That helped me take my focus away from the screen so that the chart can do its thing. Mind you if it wasn't for @snorms of FOR-EXe.com ATM (advanced trade manager) scrip, that you see on the chart, i won't be able to take my eyes off the chart. AUTOMATION is powerful.

End Result 20 Points at the risk of 7.

What happened today 4th of April 2019 [Oranges LEAKED]

So you know we trade the DAX on M1/M5 during the London Session. Everyday.

Here is a little trick that will help you avoid some trades. Right at the London Open you already have one important price zone. Do the following and you'll avoid taking a few lower probability signals.

The market did not want to move today. And that was quite expected. Just look at the H1 chart. Its been rising up for 8 days now.

It was too boring until the White House Leaked the "oranges" report.

I had enough and so I hit the Gym. Then this happened.

The Fractal Geometry of the Market is Amazing. AIMS Setup 1 and AIMS The Hunt

The following 2nd setup, in the sequence, was a lot easier to take this morning.
Clean open gator and nice clean setup 1 on m1. but I was out, just took the Seed. and it went and hit 2R like a joke.

Long time ago one of my friends said, Rober (not mueller),

"The Chart will stop setting up when its stops moving".

later he said that he never said it, that I made it up and attached it to his name. but that's a different story.

THIS IS SETUP

The Afternoon Session (US Morning Session)

Right!  so Price went up above the Gator on M5.  but forget that... price broke out of a tight box on m1, in the direction of the m5 chart , that is Upwards... and then it pulled back and created a Seed signal. That's All I wanted.

Right now, at 15 min before NY Equities Open I'm looking at this stuff and I'm thinking, when is it going to crash?

And some Trading Lessons:

To those who worry, I take the setups that nobody takes or I take the one that does not move, I say just keep taking the setups according to your rules and trade plan. Continue recording your T20's. You will learn how to filter some trades in time. Nothing can beat quality chart time and experience.

... but if you don't take them, worried you might lose. You've lost before you've started.

Take em. if you think its a setup TAKE it
Take em, if it ticks all the boxes , TAKE it.
Take 100 trades, only then you will qualify to make a judgement. You're just an observer before you've actually done it.

Partake in the game then you earn the right to make a judgement.

yes, Sam and I might be able to say, "nah not this setup". but you're new, you can't say that yet. you just look at the rules and TAKE IT. time will teach you ... that's the whole GAME.

meanwhile the Seed is just 5 points away from 2R Profit.

the EASIEST way to trade for me is have my charts m5/m1 split and trade. but it gets boring at times.

  • Support Resistance, is Shit,
  • Price Action is King is Shit,
  • Trend Lines is Shit,

Trading your method based on 3-4 indicators is THE WAY forward.

No matter how many great traders I dug up, spoken to or met in person or found on youtube, they all have some sort of trading system they religiously follow. Take Linda Raschke for instance. She is a discretionary trader yet she has done more modelling on different markets. She follows her method based on a few indicators she's used all her life, specially the 3/10 oscillator.

Whether its on naked charts, charts with indicators, or indicators without a chart.

YOU HAVE to follow your trading rules. and I have given you those. time tested rules. FOLLOW them or STOP.

It's all about Sticking to the Rules, Following your Plan. Consistency is the Key. Patience and Hard Core Discipline.

You saw breakout , strong breakout at NY Open. Wait for Setup 1

How to Trade The DAX M1 - London Session

First Step: Premarket Prep

The H1 chart and its role:

Before I start taking trades on the M1 chart. I need to know what is the market doing as a whole. For that I would look at the D1 chart, have a quick wave analysis. But then drop to hourly chart. That's where analysis begins.

What is the Trend on the Hourly Chart. Is it going up or down. Is it Wave 3 or 5? is it boxed tightly. The hourly chart may not trend on a daily basis. At times its in its respective 4th wave or it has no direction or trend. but at times, its slowly and clearly going towards an "identifiable" measured objective. i.e A TZ1 or a D1 Box high or Low.

DAX30 H1 Chart - Purple box indicate the boxed marked going sideways

e.g. DAX H1 has been trending up during the last 2 days.  But before we look at the last 2 days we have to talk about the 28th of march. That was the sideeways day. Gator was sleeping on h1. and purple was inside the box... totally sideways box.

The 29th of march brought some movement. and after the weekend, it started with a new month new orders new flare for life...

Although it went up and it continues to go up today, it did go through its "dead" period during the london open session. The market WAVE analysis is a powerful way to "understand" the structure and what is the structure of the structure of the structure ?

Now, WE know that eWave is one subjective yet at times quite measurable even objective structure of the market. The WAVE.

That structure has an underlying structure called the Fractal., the BOX, AIMS Box Indicator is the structure of the structure.

but the structure under all this is "ORDERS"
buy and sell orders. and volume of those orders.

When there are more/larger volume of BUY orders, the price starts to rise (in case of na index its the underlying stocks that moves because people are investing in those markets or divesting out of t hose markets).

so on the H1 chart, when we see the market is Trending up, i.e. Gator open to up side, the slope of the lines is up, 3 lines detached from each other, AO is creating a peak, histogram is green above ZL and box is stepping upwards. this means,

  1. the buy orders are exceeding the sell order and there is more demand in the market.
  2. this also means that the path of least resistance is up for this moment in time.
  3. and it means that on the lower time frames, there will be "bigger" up moves compared to down moves.

The London Session Today

The market opened with a spike up but that was soon killed by the sellers and market went back to where it broke from. Later the following happened.
the M5 chart complete noise

So right now as I see the market, 3 hrs after the London Open, the Gator on M5 is open, price clearly going up. ONLY THEN do I trade this market in UP direction We were keen on trading the dax today but nothing was setting up. Soon the market boxed itself.

but I want this to happen within my 3 hrs of trading. from LO to 11am uk.
if it does not happen within that period, its fine. i'm ok with that. I'll come back next day. and that is it. e.g. it happened within my trading time yesterday. The following picture shows where we trade the dax on m1. The Gator on M5 is Open, and M1 kept giving us buy signals. H1 was trending up (As a result of this)

Study this chart if you want to understand Fractal Geometry of the Markets

  • I want to know if market is Trending up or down on h1.
  • I want to know if market is trending up or down on m5.
  • I want to know if there is a setup in that direction on m1.
  • and i want that within the First 15 min , then the first hr, then the first 2 hrs of the london session.
IF it starts to move, I will continue to trade it until i assess that nothing more is left in this market. or I've hit my loss or profit targets .

Do I look for  100% Clarity?

10 years of trading , to date , I have not found absolute clarity if I should take this trade or not, nor have I found absolute confidence about whether it's going this way or that. But do know this,

THINK in terms of 20 TRADES. that's all I know.
Embrace Uncertainty but Quantify It
I don't know the result of this next trade, but I have a good idea of what might happen at the end of the next 20 Trades. [THIS IS A MILLION DOLLAR TRADING SECRET]

Don't think why Steve or Sam is long or short. Think, where is my setup, and whether I should take it or not. its all about YOU.

IS THIS A SETUP? that's my question.

The Waltz Pattern [EXPOSED]- This is a VERY HIGH Probability Pattern

Would you like to know a very high probability setup?

In the following chart you see a pattern we call AIMS THE Setup. Now you can identify AIMS The Setup using Candle Sticks ONLY.

It's a pattern that has, what we call, a Clear 3, followed by a 4 and then AIMS Entry ALERT produces this Red Dot Entry Alert.

But we have another way of trading it.

Suppose you missed the H1 setup, or you don't trade the H1 time frame. Suppose you can only trade the 5 Minute Time Frame. You can use this Waltz pattern, H1/M5 combination to cherry pick only Very High Probability Setups.

Benefits of Waltz Pattern:
1. Less Screen Time
2. More Markets to follow
3. Cherry pick only very high probability setups and signals.

Here is how to do it.
First Learn to Identify AIMS The Setup One Pattern. [more on this inside AIMS members only section]
Second, learn the Waltz Pattern.

Lets Expose the Waltz Pattern:

What to look for on H1
Rule 1: Price is out of AIMS Box
Rule 2: AIMS Gator is Open and sloping clearly up or down.
Rule 3. Look for Waltz Candle Pattern

What is the Waltz Pattern:

It is a name given to a price formation. The Waltz pattern is made of 3-5 candles. If you took the Setup 1 pattern and squeezed it into just 2 candles, you'd see this pattern.  Wait for at least 1 Strong Impulse Candle then wait for at least 1 consolidation type, small, doji or IB candle. That is your WALTZ pattern.

When you see the Waltz pattern drop to m5. Look for Setup 1.

The following two charts shows the Waltz H1/M1 Setup 1 on EUR/USD Today 26th of March 2019.

This is a GREAT  example of FRACTAL GEOMETRIC Trading.

This H1 chart shows a great Setup 1, which you could take on h1. But after the H1 breakout, you could then trade the same pattern when it occurs on M5.

This is M5 chart, that happened after the above breakout happened on h1 chart. Setup 1 on H1 and inside those last 5 candles on H1 chart above, you have a complete beautiful Setup 1 on this m5 chart

Can you see it looks like both pictures might be of the same time frame. But they are not. The second picture. that of M5 time frame, is actually inside the the last 5 candles of the H1 chart. Its Fascinating fractal geometry.

ps: can you see another Waltz on the M5 chart? hmmmm

Smooth Equity Curve - How to maintain it

Do you want consistent smooth rising equity curve?

If YES, then you need to learn to use Risk Management technique. It should be  in line with your trading strategy and trading edge in the market. The First step towards a consistently growing and smoother equity curve is to  Define your Drawdown threshold.

The Higher the drawdown threshold the more bumpy and jerky your equity curve will be. To keep it smoother you should a lower max draw down limit.

Lets use an analogy of a car driving along a bumpy road like in the picture below. The car is travelling on bumpy road, it is by no means smooth and can never be smooth. Trading will always sustain losses. Every bump is a trading loss.

Image result for car on a bumpy road cartoon

Consistently Winning Trading is a result of using a strategy that has an edge in the market. It's a strategy that gives you a higher probability of winning over a set of trades over a longer period of time.

The successful application of the winning method determines what is the direction of the proverbial car journey, losing trades are the bumps in the road, risk per trade is highs/depth of the bump, the amount of pressure on the gas pedal i.e. the speed of the car will determine how bumpy the ride is going to be.  The bigger your risk per trade the more impact the bump/ditch will have on the quality of your ride. If you take too strong bumps along the road, too many times, it might shorten the health of your car.

An Acceptable Drawdown Limit - What is it?

Most prop firms and professional traders would not want to go anything below 3-5%. But depending on their strategy a figure as big as 10% would still be acceptable but as said before, the higher the number the more "bumpy" it will be. 5% is a GOOD figure. It keeps the curve very smooth. So, e.g. if a method has 50% win rate there is an 80% chance of 5 consecutive losing trades.

There is a 50% chance of losing 6 trades consecutively. That means, within 50 trades there is a 50% chance that you might lose 6% of your account @1% risk per trade. I don't know how many times can this happen within one batch of 50 trades.

Now, assume you want 5% max drawdown. This would mean there are quite high chances that your strategy might hit this "trip" wire within each batch of 50 trades.

AIMS Stress Free Trading The Setup 1 method is a strategy that gives you 65%% win rate (33% losers, 33% BE) that means the chances of 5 losing streak is lower than 40%. So that means 5% draw down limit with 1% risk per trade would suit this method.

What happens if I hit my Drawdown Limit?

After the above you then have to assess, how many trades does your method generate per week. And then decide what would be your chances of blowing your max drawdown fuse? if you take 50 Trades a month, there is a reasonable chances that you might blow the fuse once or twice a month. Is that ok or do you want to avoid it? best be to avoid it.

How many trades do you expect for your method depends on how many markets you watch and trade and what time frame. 8 FX Pairs on an hourly chart can produce half of that per month. so 5% drawdown at 1% per trade is not bad if you trade 20-25 times a month. (assuming there are no DS0 trades). This will keep your equity curve smooth and rising steadily upwards.

The London Open Report 22 March 2019

Right, so today we had some European PMI news lined up. Not that I was actively waiting for it do something but news is one thing that's always on the agenda for a forex trader, specially intraday time frames.

So Dax started with an uptrend already, and there was no entry. I took a long of the overnight range knowing well ahead of time, that it was highly likely that it would turn into risk. But also knowing that possibility of breakout was also there.

Market is pessimistic these days so any bad news will attract more selling, with relatively much ease.

Both German and French PMI came out negative, far worse than expected.  And that meant, SELL THE EUROS.

Before the news, I saw a setup 1 on #USD/JPY. Love this setup 1. It was great looking setup to go short. PO was set well before the news.

Also Took a setup 0 on the EUR/GBP M15 chart

EUR/GBP a Setup 2 Pink Dot but a breakout entry overall. Working pretty nicely thanks to negative news for the euros

this is #gbpjpy it had a classic breakout setup, entered market order below box when it started to move after news

The London AM Report 21 March 2019

Well I did not see anything setting up on the DAX M1 chart since it was already moving before LO. But then the open behaved quite ok and we got our first Cherry signal.

Took the cherry promptly and it hit 2R target. That's it. There was nothing after that.

So I switched my attention to FX Market. Specially because FOMC helped it move last night. We always look at the market on the M15 chart the following day to catch some #FamousSetup. Famous setup is a very unique AIMS Setup 1. Sam is the Master of Famous Setups.

But I did not catch any apart from EU long which was a RENT.

And then I found a nice cherry on GBP/USD. So a nice and easy 2R trade. Below, I share with you how a Cherry trade is taken from entry to exit with 2% profit.

Here you see the Yellow little square, Cherry signal.

Stop Loss moved to BE (entry level) after 1R profit

A bit of anxiety for some people seeing it nearly missed the Take Profit level

Finally It HIts 2R. There was no drawdown on this trade. Very Easy.

The DOW Report 20 March 2019

so, today was a blessed day. First day of Spring in the UK. The also sprung well during the late afternoon session in the UK.

Below you'd see a Class 1 Setup 1 and a combination of AIMS The Hunt Sell Signal which was also "fractal geometrically" correct and  in line with Setup 1 on the M1 chart.

Here we see a perfect Setup 1 Signal followed by a Cherry Signal within the Wave 5

This chart has a perfect example of Setup 1 which was also a Cherry Signal on M5

THE DAX Report - 20 March 2019

The morning started with no real momentum.

There was no breakout, not that I'm a big fan of LO breakouts , not anymore. I wait for it to breakout. then I see if its time to trade

While chatting and making fun of @Tomi and @sam market finally started to move. I was aware of it, so was tomi right at the first 1 minute candle. that happened .. rest of the story on the chart below.

The Afternoon Session (NEO)

There was a lovely lovely Hunt Signal followed by a Setup 1 just before NEO

Below step by step picture sof Setup 1 Start to completion #LiveTrade

The arrow without a caption points to AIMS The HUNT Seed Sell Signal. So powerful

DAX Setup 1 short SL moved to #BE and Trailing AIMS Boxes

DAX was not showing momentum. I was watching DOW and it was dropping but DAX was not. Meaning there was less interest. Exit after the bounce off the levels to the left. Turns out it was a good decision.

Why is The FX MARKET DEAD?

The Forex Market is definitely going through some low volume/volatility period.

What we see on the Daily charts, or the hourly chart these days is not what is normal.

The markets used to trend like this EUR/USD Chart below

And the answer is, we don't know.

Meanwhile what should we be doing?

The simple answer is , to trade cautiously and trade the same setups over and over but taking profits at levels to the left at 1R or so.

When the markets change, and they start to trend. we will then let some trades run.

More focus will be given to Daily Charts overall in my trading. And I will discuss it here more and more. But still I'll continue to look for possible setups on the H1 time frame for major pairs.

cheers

ps: meanwhile the indices still offer plenty of movement, as well as OIL and Gold.

Was I lucky on this trade

Look at this Setup 1 short on The DAX30 M1 chart.

I had a 7 pips stop loss and grabbed 3x profit of 21 points?

Price hits my Target Point and immediately turns around?

Do You think I was lucky?

The fact of the matter is that I was not lucky. Not at all.
My Target or Take profit level was set on the pure AIMS concept of TZ1. (target zone 1)

So I set my take profit level a couple of points above the TZ1 indication.

Technical Analysis Vs AIMS The Setup

The traditional way of technical analysis is to look for Supply Demand areas, check support and resistance, find out the key price levels where price seems to react, reverse or hold levels.

Compare that to the AIMS Setup method. An indicator based, rule based method, you will find that the former requires a considerable amount of time and attention and experience compared to AIMS The Setup.

Anyone can learn to trade the setup within a few weeks. It would take good 12-24 months to master, the so called, simple analysis using "naked charts".

The following series of charts show a trade I just took at the time of writing this.

AIMS The Setup vs AIMS The Hunt

Which one is Better?

Well, it depends. Let's have a look at the following pictures of the trades I took on the GBP/USD.

First picture is that of GBP/USD H4 (Four Hourly) Chart.

This picture has three beautiful signals and three beautiful trades marked by distinct vertical lines so that you can identify all trades on the next chart that shows the same trades on the H1 (Hourly) chart.

This picture convinces me why Setup 1 is an Awesome Setup as well as why Hunt Method is even superior or  at least a great alternative.

Superior because it requires less time to observe and trade this signal, requires less screen time and can be traded on higher time frames as well as lower time frames.

Alternative because people who can't trade the hourly chart can trade the 4 hourly chart and catch the same setup 1's that happen on H1. Same goes for H4/D1.

Three Coloured Lines indicate trades that were taken as Setup 1 originally on H1 Chart.
But look at this h4 chart,  all 3 trades seems to be timed perfectly with Cherry Signals.
Conclusion: Trading Hunt Method on h4 would ensure you take all the great Setup 1 signals that appear on h1.

Really and Honestly Trade The Setup 1

This setup is much more powerful than even I thought myself.

It just never seizes to amaze me. The Setup is a perfectly testable idea. Anyone can look at the rules, test it on past data and do a forward test. To date, Nobody has ever been  able to come to me and say, "this did not work". Why? Because "IT WORKS". How do you know that it works?

To Find Out, People join our forum, they go through the course material, start trading the simple method, they complete a batch of T20 (The T20 Principle has been our greatest achievement thanks to Mr. Douglas) testing the Setup 1 idea and nearly all of them get the following result.

33% winners 33% Break Even Trades and 33% losing ones.Winners are Twice as big as the losers.

You will get 5% on average per T20 (risking only 1% per trade).

The Setup shows you where to put Stop Loss, Where to Take Profit and Where and When to move Stop Loss to Breakeven.

Plus Snorms Fantastic ATM Expert Advisor can automate the trade management bit for you. So you won't have to try to "be disciplined" because the BOT will do it for you. #for-exe.com #Snorm www.FOR-EXe.com

Slap me on my face if you did not get it. Tell me if this did not happen for you. It WORKS

And Hey I've even shared all the pics of the Setup with you already. What we then offer inside the AIMS Forum and Chatroom is help you get disciplined and actually be able to DO IT!!!

All the money paid for discipline? oh yes... Discipline is the most expensive and hardest to find commodity when it comes to "BEING SUCCESSFUL".

Below is screenshot of trades we took using our Favourite Setup 1 trading the #DAX30 this morning.

Followed by a Trade Setup on #EUR/USD that we were able to identify on H1 chart.

When is it too late or too early to buy a pullback?

In order to answer this question first ….  Let’s quickly do some repetition. Let’s quickly do some repetition.  Let’s throw in some trading ...
